Appreciating Todd Smith’s Service

This week we learned that the Honourable Todd Smith, Minister of Education and MPP for the Bay of Quinte has stepped down from cabinet and will resign his seat in the legislature immediately.

I happened to be at a funding announcement with Todd, showcasing yet another amazing opportunity he has brought to our region. It was right after the announcement that I learned of his decision. While he expressed his gratitude to the people of the Bay of Quinte, and prior to that of Hastings Prince Edward, I would suggest that all of us, the residents of this area, should be appreciative of having tremendously benefitted from his leadership for the last 13 years.

I want to thank Todd for his tireless positive attitude, his openness, and his collaborative approach. Personally, I am grateful for his willingness to share and mentor me as I stepped into the provincial realm.

Todd Smith is a true gentleman, a brilliant organizer, and just an overall great guy.

I will miss him in the Legislature, and am excited for him as he steps into his new role. I don’t know what that is, I am 100% sure he will always be working hard to support those around him!
