Bancroft: Temporary Warming Centre

With the cold weather upon us, it’s important to ensure that everyone in our community has a warm place to stay. Starting tonight, the Bancroft Bible Chapel at 106 Hastings Street North will open its doors nightly from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM as a temporary warming centre.

This initiative will provide a crucial shelter for those experiencing homelessness in the Bancroft area, especially as we wait for the arrival of the new mobile warming centre. The mobile unit is expected to be shipped on January 23, 2024, and we are working diligently to have it operational as soon as it arrives at Cleak Street.

A heartfelt thank you to the Bancroft Bible Chapel for their generosity in offering this temporary space. Security staff will also be present to offer support to anyone in need of shelter.
