Great news for Hastings–Lennox and Addington! Today, I was proud to join Minister of Energy and Mines Stephen Lecce in Napanee to officially open one of Canada’s largest battery storage facilities.
This $600 million investment is a difference-maker for our region. Not only was the project delivered on-budget and five weeks ahead of schedule, but it also supported 120 jobs during development.
This facility can power up to 250,000 homes during peak demand periods by storing clean, reliable energy from our nuclear fleet. It’s a massive step forward in ensuring Ontario has the affordable, reliable power we need to grow our economy and keep our province self-reliant.
Thank you to everyone who worked to make this happen right here in our backyard. Investing in energy infrastructure makes Hastings–Lennox and Addington an even more attractive place to live and do business!
