Beware! Scammers are now masquerading as Ontario Energy Board (OEB) officials, offering fake government rebates to enter homes, despite door-to-door sales being illegal since March 2018.

Do NOT entertain unsolicited door-to-door sales or service offers.

Be skeptical of any “official” offering rebates or threatening disconnection.

NEVER share personal information or sign contracts without thorough verification.

• If approached by someone claiming to be from your utility company, end the conversation, and call your provider directly using the number on your bill.
