Capital Funding for new LTC Home

Yesterday’s announcement from Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory brought fantastic news to their community: the federal government announced $30 million in capital funding to support building a 128-bed long-term-care home the province previously allocated to The Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte. Ontario will provide ongoing operational funds to the Hwy 2 and Huron-Brant Rd home to ensure residents receive dignified nursing and personal care connected to their community and culture. The facility will provide more than 100 jobs, including positions for Indigenous PSWs and nurses trained at FNTI. Thank you to Adam for attending on behalf of myself and MPP Todd Smith.
