Funding Upgrades to the Deseronto Library

It was a pleasure to join Julie Lane and the Deseronto Public Library team at today’s Summer Kick-Off Party to celebrate the official reopening of their renovated washrooms and upgraded HVAC system. Thanks to a $199,800 Ontario Trillium Foundation grant, the library now offers four fully accessible public washrooms—including an adult change table in one and a secure toddler seat in another—and features the town’s only public refillable water station. I’m proud our government could support these improvements that make this essential community hub more welcoming year-round. It was also wonderful to meet Isaac Henry, the library’s summer student who organized today’s Kick-Off—his enthusiasm kept the celebration flowing!
