Greenbelt Decision Reversed

Yesterday, Premier Ford acknowledged that we as the government of Ontario, made a mistake. In 2018, we promised not to touch the Greenbelt, and then when faced with a growing housing crisis, opted to use the Greenbelt to try to resolve the crisis. Today, that decision has been reversed. The 7400 acres of Greenbelt will be protected, while the 9400 acres we added, will also remain protected.

We will find ways to improve availability of land to address the crisis, but we will not use the Greenbelt lands.

I have received a great many messages from people in the riding, on this and many other topics. I read all of them, and try to respond to as many as possible. I will continue to listen to the residents of Hastings Lennox and Addington, and carry those voices to Queens Park, and try to bring improvements to many issues to our region.
