Thank you, Minister Stephen Lecce, for joining us today in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory along with PA David Smith to highlight Ontario’s increased support for Indigenous-led energy projects.
Ontario is boosting the Indigenous Energy Support Program by $10 million (a 66% increase) to $25 million annually. This funding will help communities lead local clean-energy projects, support diesel-reliant communities to transition off diesel, and create opportunities in emerging technologies like battery storage—strengthening local capacity, jobs, and a cleaner, more reliable grid.
