It was a pleasure to have Louise McKee join me in Toronto yesterday.

Louise is the partner of the late Captain Peter Hayes, a dedicated volunteer firefighter who served more than 37 years in Greater Napanee and Stone Mills. I was pleased to introduce Louise to Minister David Piccini to discuss Ontario’s Working for Workers legislation — which continues to evolve to better support those who serve on the front lines. In his life Captain Hayes helped advocate for an amendment that removed the age restriction for presumptive cancer coverage, ensuring fairer treatment for firefighters facing occupational illness.
