Ontario Healthcare Update

Updates from the Ontario government for our healthcare system:

• New ‘As of Right’ rules – Healthcare professionals licensed in other Canadian provinces can start work immediately in Ontario.

• Practice Ready Ontario – Breaks down barriers for internationally educated physicians, allowing them to start practice immediately in Ontario. This means 50+ new doctors in the province by 2024.

• Clinical Scholar Program – Pairs new nurses with experienced mentors to support their transition into the profession.

• Models of Care Innovation Fund – A $40 million fund encouraging innovative ideas to better serve Ontarians’ health needs.
