Ontario Invests in Bancroft

January 29, 2026

I was very pleased to be in Bancroft today to announce that Ontario is investing up to $2,226,500 to rehabilitate the Town’s York River overflow water control structure.

This project will help keep river levels stable, support recreation and residential use along the York River, and play a critical role in managing spring runoff and reducing flood risk for homes and businesses downstream.

Thank you to Mayor Paul Jenkins, Council, and municipal staff for their continued leadership on this important work, and to FordNation and Todd McCarthy for recognizing the unique pressures facing small, rural and northern communities.

This is a significant investment in community safety, local resilience, and the long-term future of Bancroft.
