Ornge Air Ambulance Investment
November 9, 2023
The Ontario government is investing over $108 million in Ornge Air Ambulance to expand its fixed-wing fleet, ensuring our rural and northern residents continue to have access to rapid and high-quality urgent care.
This investment includes four state-of-the-art planes, enhancing the reach and efficiency of emergency services. By 2026, with a new 12-plane fleet, two fully staffed, 24/7 air ambulance crews will be added, significantly benefiting our region’s rapid emergency care needs.
Additionally, the province is supporting the future of emergency care by investing in the education of our next generation of paramedics through the Ontario Learn and Stay Grant. This will provide students with the funding they need and, after graduation, they’ll serve in the regions where they studied, bolstering local healthcare services.
We’re committed to ensuring that every resident, no matter where they live, has access to the care they need.
