Parliamentary Seminar in New Brunswick

Honoured to join my colleagues Speaker Donna Skelly and MPP Jess Dixon at the 45th CPA Canadian Regional Parliamentary Seminar in Fredericton, NB.

MPP Dixon presented Ontario’s work on addressing intimate partner violence (IPV) and gender-based violence (GBV). I was grateful to speak in support and share hopes for the path ahead: survivor-centred supports (including culturally safe services and rural access), accountability in the justice system that prioritizes safety and dignity, prevention through education so the next generation grows up without normalized violence, and increased data so we can measure, improve, and sustain progress.

Thank you to our hosts and to colleagues across Canada for a thoughtful, solutions-focused discussion. Ending IPV/GBV will take steady, coordinated work.
