I was honoured to recognize Reeve Henry Hogg not only for his remarkable lifetime of commitment to his community but also as someone I’m proud to call both a colleague and a friend.

With over four decades of public service, Henry’s career far exceeds my 25 years as an elected official, and his dedication to the people of Lennox and Addington is truly inspiring. First elected to municipal council in 1985, Henry has served as both Councillor and Reeve, while also representing his community on the Lennox and Addington County Council. Throughout his extensive tenure, he has served on countless committees, providing invaluable guidance and leadership.

I had the privilege of meeting Henry in 2010 when I joined the County Council. A seasoned veteran of municipal politics, Henry took me under his wing, offering mentorship and support to a newcomer eager to learn.

Henry’s dedication to his community is legendary, but it’s his kindness, optimism, and positive spirit that make him a truly special individual and a very deserving recipient of this award. Thank you, Henry, for your years of service and for being a beacon of leadership and friendship.
