Speaking on Private Member’s Motion

Last week, I rose in the Legislature to ask the government to explore expanding the Constable Joe MacDonald Public Safety Officers’ Survivors Scholarship Fund to include families of first responders who lose their lives to duty-related cancers.

I spoke about Captain Pete Hayes, who served his community for more than 40 years and spent his final months advocating for others. This motion honours his legacy and supports the families who shoulder the sacrifice long after the uniform comes off.
