Our government has secured a $85 million investment from Massilly North America to establish a new steel packaging facility in Southwestern Ontario.
For years, much of our steel has been shipped to the United States to be turned into cans, and then we’ve imported those cans back to package Canadian food.
The announcement is a positive step toward changing that story — keeping more of the value-added work, more jobs, and more of the supply chain right here at home.
