Associate Minister Sam Oosterhoff was in Hastings–Lennox & Addington today and asked if we could take a very special detour to Christ Church, Her Majesty’s Chapel Royal in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. A big thank you to Chief Maracle for welcoming us and sharing the chapel’s rich history. Built in 1843 to symbolize the political and military alliance between the British Crown and the Mohawk people, and to house gifts given to the Mohawks by the Royal Family over three centuries. The chapel remains a living testament to our shared heritage.
